Ian Parsons - 01491 672312 (Chair)
Ian joined the council in 2013, having moved into Upper Basildon in 2007. Ian, now retired from teaching in a number of local secondary schools, is involved in the production of the Country Neighbour. His interests include old motorcycles, local history and walking.

 

Sarah Barnes - 01491 671978

Sarah moved to Lower Basildon in February 2007 from Esher and joined the council in 2011. She is currently working in Contact Centre IT as a project manager. She has a keen interest in the countryside is a qualified bee keeper having attended many courses at BCA. Her hobbies include horse riding and watching West Ham. She is known to attend the odd quiz and is an avid cinema goer. She loves living in Lower Basildon and helping out where possible.

 

Oliver Chadwyck-Healey - 01491 671556 (Vice Chair)

Oliver moved to Upper Basildon in June 2016. A food enthusiast both personally and professionally, he enjoys growing vegetables in the garden and cooking for friends and family. Most weekends he can be found taking his two young daughters to the playground at the Village Hall. 

 

Geoff Couchman - 01491 672412 

Geoff joined the council in 2013 after moving from Bristol to Upper Basildon. He is married with 2 children and four grandchildren. He is interested in travel and most sports, playing regularly at Goring & Streatley Golf Club. He is also a member of Goring Gap Rowing Club. He is retired now but previously worked as a UK sales director for a FTSE 100 company.

 

Elaine Cox - 01491 671532 

Elaine joined the council in 2012. She lives in Bethesda Street and her main interest is the preservation of the rural nature of the village. Basildon lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and she is keen to retain green verges, spacious gardens, hedges as boundaries, gravel as driveways, and to reduce intrusive exterior lighting. She also helps the parish council occasionally with some public rights of way matters, as her job is with the countryside section of West Berkshire council. She qualified as a geologist, and her other main interest is music (violin) and church choral singing in all its aspects.

Melanie Greasley 07824 862720

Melanie moved to Upper Basildon in 2008 and joined the Parish Council in 2021. She works as a Certified Accountant for a software company in Reading and in her spare time she enjoys reading, walking and spending time with her family and two spaniels. She is also an FA qualified football coach and helps run the local children’s team Basildon Badgers FC.
